That doesn't mean it works independently without limits. It still depends on the instructions it is given. In practice, what matters is what the AI can actually do, what it can access, and how closely the result still needs to be checked.
Agentic AI in Context
You may hear this term in conversations about automation, AI assistants, developer tools, support workflows, research tasks, or internal operations. When someone says an AI is "agentic", they usually mean it can do more than chat. It can take steps like searching for information, updating files, using connected apps, or completing a sequence of actions before reporting back.
Within a product, terms like "AI agent" or "AI assistant" usually refer to AI designed to take specific actions or complete tasks.
What matters in practice is whether the AI can help carry out part of the task, not just describe it.
