The Rabbit Hole

Have you ever come across a technical term you didn't understand? For me, several years ago, it was API.

After avoiding it for months, I finally looked it up. What I found was XML and JSON. I didn't know what those were either, so I looked them up too. By the time I finished, I had five new terms I didn't understand and the distinct feeling that I was completely out of my depth.

That was the moment I felt it wasn't worth the effort, and that I should just "leave it to the professionals".

Learning technical concepts when you don't come from an engineering background isn't always straightforward. Explanations are often written for people who already understand the basics. If you don't, you're expected to work backward until you catch up.

And honestly, it can feel unnecessary sometimes. The challenge is deciding what you need to learn now, and what can wait.

What I needed back then wasn't a deep technical breakdown. I needed someone to explain it clearly, and then stop.

That's the space this blog is trying to create.

Not to master every layer of technology. Not to become an engineer overnight. Just enough to pique your curiosity, avoid feeling overwhelmed, and to stay in the conversation.

You don't need to know how to do it. Just what can be done.
